Happiness is elusive in this life. Because it's an emotion-like sadness and anger-it comes and goes with the circumstances that we are going through. Joy, however, is different. It's the permanent condition of the heart that is right with God. It isn't based on circumstances, but rather the known outcome-spending eternity with God. Forget about the pursuit of happiness and embrace joy. It will not fail you even in your darkest days and most trying hours.
